Timing is Everything...

The best length for waxing is generally ½ to ¾ of an inch. It is best to allow 3-4 weeks of hair growth for Brazilian, legs, and underarms

Take 2 of These...

Take a couple of Ibuprofen or Tylenol 30-45 minutes before your appointment. This will help to reduce any skin sensitivity or inflammation.

Hot Points...

Avoid caffeine and alcohol because they can heighten sensitivity.

Pregnancy and menstruation can also heighten sensitivity.

Help The Cause...

Exfoliation will help to weaken hair follicles and remove dead skin cells to allow for a cleaner wax, gently exfoliate the area to be waxed 24 hours before your appointment.

Red Lobster Special...

Avoid tanning (natural or artificial), hot tubs and saunas 24 hours before your appointment. It is not advised to wax skin that is pink, sunburned, or peeling.

Dress For Success...

Wear loose fitting clothing, it is best to wear plain cotton underwear, lace or un-breathable materials can cause irritation.

You Can't Just Have One...

It is recommended to wax 2-3 days before any special occasion or event. If possible it is best to have 2-3 waxing treatments about 4-6 weeks apart to determine skin sensitivity and ensure a clean wax, it is not uncommon to have a little stubble after a fist time wax.

No Peeking...That Means You...

Due to the nature of the business only the waxpert and client are allowed in the treatment room, children included thanks for understanding!

POST WAX CARE

After it's all said and done...

  • Heat and friction are our enemies.

  • Heightened sensitivity may be experienced in the waxed area for the next 24-48 hours. This may include redness, small bumps, even bruising can occur. If needed 1% hydrocortisone cream or Aloe Vera gel may be applied to the skin. It may also be beneficial to apply a cold compress or cool shower.

  • Light exercise is alright, however it is best to avoid heavy exercise because sweat contains bacteria that can cause irritation. Be sure to cleanse skin as soon as possible after workout.

  • To prevent ingrown hairs wait 2-3 days before exfoliating freshly waxed skin. Once all redness and sensitivity has gone away gently exfoliate regularly and apply a topical serum such as Tend Skin, PFB, or Bump Stopper.

  • Avoid tanning (natural or artificial), hot tubs, or saunas for 48 hours after a wax, freshly waxed skin is more photosensitive and prone to burn. Remember to apply and reapply sunscreen to exposed freshly waxed skin.

  • Try to avoid shaving in between waxes, as shaving causes hairs to become very coarse and coarse hairs can be difficult to wax.

  • In order to achieve optimal results it is important to wax every 4-6 weeks. The hair will become finer and sparser resulting in more comfortable wax.
